EUREKA, Calif. — According to www.kiem-tv.com, ash from the wildfires spreading across the Northwest U.S. is now impacting business at carwashes.
Business has increased as cars covered in ash come to get washed, the article continued; the line at the local Carriage Car Wash was out to the street on Sept. 5th.
According to the owner of Carriage Car Wash, this time of the year is typically busy anyway, but now they’re seeing ash on every car that comes through the carwash; he estimates that they’re cleaning a few hundred cars a day, the article noted.
“With all the ash in the air and stuff like that, we’ve definitely gotten a lot busier than what we usually are,” said Tommy Wilber, a Carriage Car Wash employee. “You don’t want to leave it on your car for too long because it can ruin your paint job. It makes it harder because we have to take more time washing the cars. It’s going to take more time if you’re going through the carwash than what it usually does.”
