SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The owners of Harv’s Car Wash hope their piano will bring people together, according to Fox40.com.
“We thought it would be a great way for people to gather, play music, sing [and] dance,” said owner Naomi Brennan in the article. Her family received the piano as a donation.
The piano is painted lavender in keeping with the area, called Lavender Heights, noted the article. Local Jack Skalican shared in the article, “They need to … put up a sign that says ‘please come play me.’”
According to Brennan in the article, other businesses have since been looking for used pianos for themselves.
Other cities like New York and Denver have also embraced the idea, reported the article.
