SIMSBURY, CT — Two men here are renovating a 40-year-old carwash that has been closed for two years, the SimsburyPatch reported.

The Nov. 1 story said Valley Car Wash originally opened in the late 1960s and Tunji Somma and Ken Gallup bought it and plan to re-open it under the moniker: CT Auto Spa.

“It’s exciting; It’s been a landmark,” Somma said in the story. “It had really good bones… it just needed some some updating.”

More modern and efficient equipment, restrooms, an office area will be added. The older wash's 100-foot-tunnel will be retained and modernized and pay stations and an RFID reader will also be added.

The self-serve wash will be taken down, but an in-bay automatic will go up, which will be open 24/7.
