CHICAGO — The Boyd Group Inc. announced the recent opening of a Gerber Collision & Glass location in Schererville, Indiana, according to a press release.

The newly acquired location previously operated as John’s CARSTAR Collision Center, which has served the local community for 23 years, stated the release.

The center is located around 35 miles south of Chicago on U.S. Route 30, continued the release.

“This is our second center in Schererville and will help us serve our customers and insurance partners in the region,” said Tim O’Day, president and chief operating officer of the Boyd Group’s U.S. operations, in the article. “It also strengthens our footprint in northwest Indiana and the Chicago metropolitan area, one the largest in the country with over nine million residents.”

The Boyd Group, directly and through subsidiaries, operates non-franchised collision repair centers in North America, reported the release, with locations in 19 U.S. states under the trade name Gerber Collision & Glass as well as with locations under the trade name Boyd Autobody & Glass in five Canadian provinces.

The company continues its search to add new collision repair locations to its existing network throughout the U.S. and Canada, noted the release.
