THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Sheetz Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its 500th store on Feb. 24, according to CSPnet.com.
To celebrate, customers at all Sheetz locations were offered free coffee and fountain drinks all day, noted the article.
The company is currently planning 750 stores, stated the article, and it will eventually have 1,000. The stores will be located in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.

At least 30 locations will open in 2015, reported the article. Its new-concept c-store and restaurant will open at University Place, a student apartment complex for West Virginia University students. It marks the first site without fuel, and it will instead focus on fresh food and beverage offerings.
The 15,000-square-foot store and café will feature indoor and outdoor seating for 100 people, shared the article.
To commemorate the new site, Sheetz will award a $10,000 scholarship to a West Virginia student, said the article. The winner will be announced March 7.
