GALESBURG, IL — David Stukel will purchase the WaterWorks carwash chain and Galesburg Manufacturing effective Dec. 1, according to Galesburg.com.
The Nov. 4 story stated that Stukel is the husband of Sheri Smith. The businesses were owned by Sheri’s parents Walt and Rennie Smith.

There are 12 locations in the WaterWorks chain, and Stukel is planning for expansion in the future. “What we have here is a superior product,” Stukel said in the story. “I definitely can see an opportunity to grow the business. I don’t know if Galesburg is ready for another carwash, but there’s obvious opportunities in other cities in Illinois, Iowa and even Missouri, maybe even more so in the Southeast.”
Stukel wanted to get the business involved with the community, so he planned the first fundraiser at WaterWorks. The proceeds from the charity wash were set aside to help the high school cheerleaders buy new uniforms. Stukel hopes to have other events for churches and local organizations.
