CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation recently received a $183,930 donation from Stripes® Convenience Stores, according to CSPnet.com.

The funds were raised during Stripes’ 11th annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) paper pin-up fundraising campaign this past spring, stated the article.

Customers were asked by Stripes employees to “Put Their Money Where The Miracles Are” and purchase a $1 Miracle Balloon icon to help raise funds for CMNH, reported the article.

As a thank you, customers were rewarded with a free 12-ounce Slush Monkey drink and a buy-one-get-one free Smokin’ Barrel snack promotion for every donation made, continued the article.

Stripes received $1,422,630 in donations from more than 675 c-store locations, added the article, surpassing its goal of raising over $1.4 million.

The donations will directly benefit 13 CMNH throughout New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, informed the article.

“What an honor it is to present more than $1.4 million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” said Eduardo Pereda, Stripes vice president of marketing, at a check presentation event to representatives from CMNH. “Together, with the generosity of our customers and the support of our passionate team members, we surpassed our highest expectations.”
