Toolmaker acquired by Italian company

LONGMONT, Colo. — The Colorado-based business has supplied its polisher to the auto and airplane detailers for more than 60 years.

LONGMONT, Colo. — Cyclo Toolmakers has been acquired by RUPES S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer of electric and pneumatic power tools and vacuum systems, according to a press release.

Cyclo manufactures the Cycle Orbital Polisher, noted the release. RUPES introduced its polishing system, BigFoot, in North America.

The auto detailing and airplane polishing industries have used Cyclo’s dual head polisher for more than 60 years, stated the release.

“We recognize the high quality reputation that the Cyclo brand enjoys across several market segments and promise to work diligently to both honor and improve the status of the brand while leveraging Cyclo’s capabilities to improve RUPES’ service, support and technical levels in North America,”  added Kissov, in the release.

Reaching new reclaim heights

There is a lot of variety in the carwash industry. Not only are there different types of washes, but the design, equipment, chemistry, staffing and service can greatly vary from one site to the next. However, there’s one non-negotiable constant in every wash: Water.

Since water — and lots of it — is so essential to this industry, it only makes sense to strive for ways to maximize every single drop. That’s where the reclaim process comes in. Collecting, rehabilitating and reusing as much water as possible is essential to protect the environment, the availability of resources and a carwash’s bottom line. That’s why industry leaders are currently driving innovation to find ways to reclaim even more water than ever.
