NEW BERN, N.C. — The storms in the area have led to salt and slush on cars, and warmer weather is a chance to clean them off, according to the Sun Journal.

Mitchell Whitney, the owner of Platinum Mobile Detailing said cleaning a car is about more than appearances. “A car is the second biggest investment you will ever make, next to your house … Why not take care of it?”

He said that the longer salt and chemicals stay on your car, the more damage they do. And it’s not just about the salt, “You also have all this muddy dirt that can cause scratches because of all the rock particles,” he said.
