HUMBLE, TX — One minute Jose Zavala was washing his car, the next he was sitting in his car with an armed robber, click2Houston.com reported.
The Aug. 23 story stated that Zavala noticed a car pull into a nearby stall as he washed his car at Humble Car Wash at around 7 p.m. When Zavala went to a vending machine to buy a towel, two men approached him.
Zavala said in the story he noticed that one of the men had a weapon. “I saw he had a gun under his pants,” Zavala said. “I tried to run to my car and lock it, do something, but they were too fast.”
While one of the men got in the passenger side of Zavala’s vehicle and stole his wallet, the other man pulled Zavala from the car and stole his phone. The two men then jumped back into their car and drove away from the scene.
The thieves were caught on the carwash’s video surveillance system. Humble police are investigating the crime and planning to review the surveillance video.
