WESTMINSTER, CA — A water-friendly chain of express carwashes is expanding with a new wash opening scheduled for Feb. 17, the Orange County Register reported.
The Jan. 30 story stated that the H2Go chain opened its first location last June, and the second location will open here next month. Expansion plans currently include Los Angeles and Huntington Beach as well.
City council debates wash’s massive water bill
The express washes will use approximately 12 gallons of water per wash, and some of the water will be captured rainwater. Rainwater will be caught and stored in a 5,000-gallon cistern at the washes.
Also, 80 percent of the wash water will be recycled, filtered and reused. Excess water generated in the RO process is collected and used to irrigate landscaping.
The new wash will not officially open until February, but the location is operational and offering free washes to work out any kinks with the system.
