KENT, England — Several carwash employees were detained when UK Immigration Enforcement raided Parkwood Hand Car Wash, according to kentonline.co.uk.
One Albanian man who had entered the country illegally was arrested, said the article.
Local Geoff Crittenden said in the article, “Three vans blocked off the entrances to the car wash and officers swarmed the forecourt. Workers were running all over the place to try and escape.”

The carwash faces a £20,000 fine unless it can prove it carried out pre-employment checks, noted the article.
Richard Lederle of Home Office Immigration Enforcement said in the article the employment of illegal workers will not be tolerated.
“The message is clear,” said Lederle in the article. "Although we are happy to assist businesses and advise them on what checks need to be carried out on staff, employers who flout the rules will be punished and could face a heavy penalty.”
