LAKE ELSINORE, CA — On Monday, Roth Steven Anderson allegedly ran up to a customer at a coin-op carwash here brandishing what appeared to be a black semi-automatic firearm, LakeElsinore-WildomarPatch reported.
The July 23 story said the male customer was washing his car in a bay when Anderson demanded his wallet. Instead, the customer turned the high-pressure water hose on Anderson and sprayed him in the face.
Anderson fled from the scene, but police soon found his backpack in a Denny’s restaurant. Inside the bag, police found a replica firearm and the clothes worn during the attempted robbery.
Anderson was across the parking lot purchasing cigarettes when he was located by police. The victim positively identified Anderson as the man who attempted to rob him.
