Rain Tunnel expands with seventh site

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Rain Tunnel Express Car Wash opened its seventh location on May 1, according to a press release.

The new facility is the company’s fourth site in Illinois. It has three other washes in Missouri.

“Illinois is where we started, and our locations there have consistently done very well over the years,” says President and owner Scott Knight in the release.

“With more than $200,000 in improvements, installing the most advanced cleaning technology from the A.V.W. Equipment Company and environmentally friendly cleaning products from Kaady Chemical, we expect this new facility in Glen Carbon to be a great addition,” Knight adds in the release.

Rain Tunnel Express established its first location in Granite City in 1995.

Magnolia Car Wash’s customers aren’t just locals

VICKSBURG, Miss. — The new Magnolia Car Wash is keeping up with carwash advancements to attract clientele inside and outside of the state, according to the Vicksburg Post.

The wash features an LED light show and scents inside the tunnel that stay inside vehicles for up to 24 hours, stated the article.

Customers’ vehicles receive a lava bath and triple foam during the wash. Patrons can add the Buff n Dry option for $4.

“You get hot wax applied to the car, and at the end of the wash, there’s a buffer that will drop down and buffs your hood, your top and the back, which gives it a hand-buffed look,” says owner Doug Hudgins in the article. “It’s the newest technology.”

Once through the tunnel, customers can use the free vacuums and mat cleaners.

Hudgins owns other businesses in the area, but Magnolia is his first carwash venture. The wash has attracted customers from outside the state in Louisiana as well.

“A lot of people responded to it very positively,” Hudgins adds in the article. “Everyone tells me they’re very glad we’re here. It’s been very positive, which makes me feel good, obviously.”
