FAIRBANKS, Alaska — According to tvtv.com, the Splash & Dash Car Wash on Old Steese Hwy. set a goal to raise $20,000 during October to support the Breast Cancer Detection Center in Fairbanks during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The carwash took $5 from every “Lava Wash” sold to donate to the center, the article stated, and fittingly, the “Lava Wash” was pink.
Manager Sam Makkar said that cancer affects most people in the community, including many of the carwash’s customers, the article noted.
According to a follow-up article on newsminer.com, the Splash & Dash Car Wash ended up raising a total of $25,365 during the month and presented a check to the detection center on Tuesday, Nov. 8th.
