Collision repair chain opens new location in Florida

CHICAGO — Gerber Collision & Glass has more than 50 collision repair locations in Florida.

CHICAGO — The Boyd Group Inc. announced a new Gerber Collision & Glass location opened in Punta Gorda, Florida, on March 1, according to a press release.

Punta Gorda is approximately 23 miles north of Fort Myers and about a two-hour drive south of Tampa, stated the release.

The new collision repair center is located on US Highway 41, which links Tampa and Miami, and is close to the I-75 Interstate Highway, reported the release.

“We are pleased to add this new location [because] it complements our locations in Fort Myers and Tampa and adds to our position as a leading provider of collision repair services in Florida, with over 50 locations,” said Tim O’Day, president and chief operating officer of the Boyd Group’s U.S. operations, in the release. “We look forward to serving new customers in Punta Gorda, better assisting our insurance partners and growing to become the collision repair provider of choice in southwest Florida.”

Directly and through subsidiaries, Boyd Group is a large operator of non-franchised collision repair centers in North America, informed the release.

The company operates under the trade name Body Autobody & Glass throughout five Canadian provinces, noted the release, and under the trade name Gerber Collision & Glass in 19 U.S. states.
