AVON PARK, Fla. — A Florida town is reworking its code to permit carwash and auto detailing businesses, according to the News-Sun.
Representatives of Xclusive Detailing asked to set up a permitted carwash and auto detailing business, but the city had no code governing that type of operation.
The city council and the planning and zoning board met to discuss the details of reworking the code as to what allowing these businesses would entail, stated the article.
Issues like recycling water and what to do with water run-off were discussed, as well as what type of awnings would be allowed.
Some voiced concerns about other unwanted business activity taking place, including fruit vendors. “If people come and ask (and) if they want fruit stands, we’ll deal with that when it comes to it,” said Councilman Garrett Anderson in the article.
