PARK RIDGE, N.J. — Hertz hopes to save more than 130 million gallons of carwash water each year with its new “green clean” machines.
The systems have been brought out in over 200 locations, and the company hopes to have waterless washing at 3,700 locations in the United States and Europe this year.
“Managing one of the largest car rental fleets in the world requires a significant amount of car washing,” said CEO, Mark Frissora. “Moving to a waterless carwash system is another innovative way Hertz is addressing both its sustainability and business needs.”
The new wash process can wash a car with 6 to 8 ounces of a proprietary solution, which is fully biodegradable.
