Labranche’s former business manager said the rapper had cleaned up his life in his mid-twenties. Labranche was known for employing young men at the carwash and helping them get off the street.

Labranche was shot multiple times at Magic City on Monday, Oct. 15. The next day, friends and family gathered at the carwash to remember the man known for his music, generosity and sense of humor.

Friends interviewed for the story said they believe the killer may have been a carwash employee that had a dispute with Labranche. There was no motive or suspect as of earlier this week.

Labranche’s two children were inside an SUV parked on the carwash’s property at the time of the shooting. They were not hurt, and they did not see the incident, the story noted.
