LUBBOCK, Texas — According to www.lubbockonline.com, Dakota James Griffin, 20, was arrested after police located him following a hit-and-run at a Racer Classic Car Wash on the afternoon of May 17th.
Lt. Jon Tutino of the Lubbock Police Department stated that the incident was reported shortly after 1 p.m., and that when police responded, they found Donald Carpenter, 57, in serious condition after being run over multiple times, the article continued.
Witnesses told police that a vehicle struck Carpenter on the carwash property next to the detailing center, the article added, saying that the vehicle backed into him, shifted into drive and then ran over him again.
Carpenter was rushed to the hospital by EMS, where he remained in serious but stable condition as of that evening, the article noted.
Using witness reports and their own investigation, police tracked the suspect vehicle and found the driver near it, arresting him, the article stated.
Griffin was taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where he stayed that evening, the article concluded.
