Local repair shop plans to donate vehicle to veteran

RENO, Nev. — CoAuto will repair and detail the car before giving it away on Dec. 23 to a local veteran.

RENO, Nev. — The owners of CoAuto are working with a local organization for veterans to give away a car to a veteran for the holidays, according to KOLO 8 News Now.

The repair shop is currently rebuilding the transmission of the Ford Focus, which was sold to them by a customer “who could not justify the cost,” stated the article.

The CoAuto team said that the previous owner wanted the car to be given to someone in need once it was repaired, added the article.

The CoAuto team will fix and detail the car in order to be given away on Dec. 23, reported the article, and the business stated that anyone in the local automotive industry who wants to help during the process won’t be turned away.

“Anyone who can provide us with some assistance … some assistance with detailing would be a wonderful thing; that way, the veteran is going to get his [or her] car clean,” said Vinnie Lucido, co-owner of CoAuto, in the article. “We are going to detail it ourselves, but if there is a company out there that wants to provide a little help, that would be wonderful.”

The shop will also provide free maintenance for a year to the veteran who receives the car, noted the article.
