BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In the latest Guest Post, Samantha Tung of Caliber Collision discusses five ways carwashes can be more environmentally friendly.
“Do your customers know that commercial carwashes are actually more environmentally friendly than using a sponge, soap and bucket at home? Commercial carwashes throughout the U.S. are required by law to discharge dirty water into state-approved drainage facilities, then treat it or reuse it,” shares Tung.
Just because you choose to be more environmentally friendly, continues Tung, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the quality of the services you provide to your customers.
In the blog post, Tung offers some tips for carwashes to consider to help make their location(s) more environmentally friendly.
One such tip is to use green and biodegradable products. “Make sure when looking for products that you purchase a solution that is both biodegradable and nontoxic,” she explains. “Look for environmentally friendly soaps that do not contain any of the following: petroleum-distillates, kerosene, silicone or mineral spirits.”
Other tips discussed in the blog post include recycling and reusing water, installing high-pressure washing systems, utilizing wind and solar power, and offering reusable cloths over disposable towels.
