BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — While c-stores are often victims of theft, not all thieves are the conventional type.
According to an article on upi.com, Luke’s Grocery in Toronto posted a video online of a squirrel scampering into the shop on Nov. 19th to steal a candy bar and promptly fleeing, but this was not the first time the incident had occurred.
The description for the video stated, “Nearly wintertime. We keep our door closed. But every once in a while, we open it for some fresh air or delivery — and the menace strikes.”
According to a post in October by Reddit user Quilterrday, “For around a week or two, a squirrel (either the same one or maybe not) has been coming in when we are not looking, taking a chocolate bar, and dashing off. It’s a different bar each time — O’Henry, Mr. Big, etc. It happens about once every two to three days.”
The first time the thieving squirrel was captured on video was Oct. 8th, the article noted.
