Q&A: A look at UNITI expo 2018

Learn more about this leading trade fair for the petroleum and carwash industries.

UNITI expo is the leading European trade fair for the retail petroleum and carwash industries. The biennial event, with its program of seminars and compact three-day format, is specially tailored to the needs of its target audience. UNITI expo provides a unique opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to build and strengthen business relationships with customers and professionals alike.

UNITI expo 2018 is scheduled to take place from May 15-17 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Professional Carwashing & Detailing (PC&D) recently spoke with Bruno Boroewitsch, CEO of com-a-tec and co-founder of UNITI expo, about the upcoming event.

PC&D  | We are a month away from UNITI expo. What updates can you give us on this year’s trade show?

BB  |  The preparation for UNITI expo 2018 is rolling along nicely. We have had an amazing response from exhibitors that translates into a fully booked exhibition space. In terms of “Carwash & Carcare,” the themed area will spread over Halls 1 and 3. With each edition of UNITI expo, we have had to increase our focus on the carwash sector due to the incredible interest coming from the industry — the exhibition space dedicated to this sector has grown to 12,000 square meters (129,000 square feet).

This year, there will be a separate carwash piazza with the Carwash Forum and free catering services in Hall 3. At the Forum, once again, visitors and exhibitors will be able to attend informative lectures and presentations on a wide range of topics. For more convenience, all presentations will be held in English and German with simultaneous translation. Soon, we will publish the conference program for the education services. I can safely say that attendants won’t be disappointed.

PC&D  |  Why should carwash owners and operators attend UNITI expo 2018?

BB  |  UNITI expo is a unique event that manages to gather the most international attendants and the most innovative solutions in the industry while creating an efficient atmosphere that is ideal for networking and creating business opportunities. Apart from showcasing the best in forecourt carwash services and professional washing services and equipment, for the first time, we have invited car dealerships and fleet operators to UNITI expo. We want the whole industry to be present at the show and to do all that we can to make the visit of exhibitors and visitors time-worthy and financially beneficial.

The carwash industry is growing all around the world with new technologies and changing consumer behavior pushing the sector. UNITI expo is a great chance to see all that the industry has to offer in a single place. The biggest carwash equipment manufacturers will all be there with large booths.

On top of that, we have 40,000 square meters (430,500 square feet) of exhibition space to roam around some of the most innovative solutions in the fuel retailing, technology and convenience sectors. The entry to the trade show is free of charge, and the event takes place in Stuttgart, Germany, which is extremely well-connected to overseas destinations. The trade show is located five minutes away from the international airport on foot.

PC&D  |  What makes this trade show interesting for overseas attendants?

BB  |  Apart from its international character that suits visitors from all around the world and the quality of the exhibitors, I would say that German and European carwash manufacturers are very progressive when it comes to energy efficiency and water reclaiming systems. From the exhibitors to the educational sessions, you will be able to see plausible and modern solutions to improve energy efficiency at carwash sites.

Europe, as many people well know, is a very regulated space, and carwash companies and site operators have to adapt their systems before they are in danger of infringing rules. Water saving and water reclaiming are huge for European professionals.

Germany and Austria have the strictest laws in Europe concerning the misuse of water, so suppliers and operators here are extremely careful. This aspect could be of special interest to the U.S. public, as perhaps it is something that is not discussed as much in the U.S.

PC&D  | Is there any key point that will make this trade show different from others in Europe?

BB  |  We are very proud to say that we are the only trade show in Europe that is supported by all the major carwash suppliers. On top of that, UNITI expo covers all the needs related to the different market segments: gas stations, professional carwashes and car dealers. This is the only event where visitors get to see a full overview of the European carwash market.

PC&D  |  How does an interested person register to visit UNITI expo 2018?

BB  |  The trade show is free to visit for any professionals from the industry. You can register through our website (www.uniti-expo.com). You just have to book your flights, hotel and come to Europe’s leading trade show for your industry. We are waiting for you.
