MONTEREY, Calif. — Just back from Seattle’s Museum of Flight, having detailed the original presidential jet Air Force One and dozens of historic aircraft, master detailer Renny Doyle selected 16 of his most experienced paint correction specialists for car aficionado Gordon McCall’s 27th Annual Motorworks Revival on Aug. 22nd and for The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on Aug. 24th.
Partnered with Bob Phillips, president of P&S Sales in Hayward, California, and a major sponsor of all Doyle’s events, the team will prep multimillion-dollar classics and exotics as part of Monterey Car Week, using Doyle’s emergent Double Black product line developed by P&S Sales, the release continued.
Over 3,000 of the most influential automotive collectors, car enthusiasts, celebrities and automotive professionals in the world gather at the posh McCall’s event to enjoy gourmet cuisine while strolling through the array of rare vintage race cars, motorcycles and private jets, the release noted.
Among the vehicles the McCall’s exclusive team have prepped in the past include Frank Sinatra’s 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, Bryan Fuller’s Shogun bike and Gordon McCall’s own 1937 Fiat 500, the release continued.
The team will also offer its impeccable detailing services to automotive collections valued at $15 to $20 million at The Quail, the release added.
Among these collections are pre-war sports and racing vehicles, supercars, the Great Ferraris, custom coachwork and sports and racing motorcycles, the release stated.
“For a man who, as a boy, used to ride his bicycle to the airport just for the opportunity to wash the car of my mentor, legendary aerobatic pilot Art Scholl, in exchange for watching those planes take off, I look at the past 15 years of restoring and preserving Air Force One and still feel a great honor,” said Doyle. “Then, in the past four years, I get to turn around a few weeks later and work that same magic on these exquisite luxury, custom, exotic and vintage automobiles, motorcycles and even aircraft at Monterey Car Week. I must be the luckiest guy on the planet ever to wash a car.”
