JANESVILLE, Wis. — According to www.gazettextra.com, Mr. Splash, an independent carwash chain, has merged with Sponge Spa at 2904 Milton Ave., which will be rebranded under the Mr. Splash name this summer.
In addition, Mr. Splash is demolishing and redeveloping the Splash Car Wash at 1608 Milton Ave., which both companies own and which housed a touchless carwash for around 20 years; it will now feature a tunnel to match the Mr. Splash brand.
The demolition and rebuild is slated for June.
Both sets of owners will remain as managing partners of six locations, including two in Madison, Wisconsin, and one in Fort Myers, Florida.
The merger will allow the sister companies to unite their membership bases, allowing for locals to have more location options.
The company is still deciding on whether or not to rebrand an existing Sponge Spa on Milwaukee Rd. in Beloit, Wisconsin.
