BEAVERTON, Ore. — Beaverton Toyota recently completed a renovation of its facility and earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification, according to Golocalpdx.com.
The $15 million project added 12,000 square feet to the facility, noted the article. Energy costs were cut drastically, said general manager Russ Humberston in the article. Local labor and supplies were used as well, “including renewable wood from local forests.”

A rainwater collection system, solar charging station, rooftop solar panels and waterless urinals were also added, stated the article. The carwash primarily uses recycled rainwater and the building is heated with recycled oil from vehicle oil changes.
The dealership supported three local charities with $5,000 each during its grand opening, reported the article. It also awarded a family with a new Toyota Tundra after it won the Winterhawks Hockey Family of the Year contest.
