GASTONIA, N.C. — Sam’s Mart, based in Matthews, recently received a permit to build a new carwash, and construction is now underway, according to The Gaston Gazette.
Larry Ziner, senior estimator with Charlotte builder Andujar Construction, reported that the $1.6 million carwash is a new prototype for the convenience store, stated the article.
Construction for the nearly 4,000-square-foot facility is projected to be completed in eight weeks, continued the article.
Sam’s Mart operates carwashes throughout Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, reported the article, and plans to build several more around the Gastonia area.
Bordering a residential area, the company had to face “a rezoning hurdle for the land,” noted the article, before obtaining permission to build.
