MATLACHA/PINE ISLAND, FL — Long's Paint & Body Shop opened back 1983 and recently celebrated its 30-year anniversary, according to a PineIsland-Eagle.com report.
The Sept. 4 story said owner Elvis Long was in his 20s when he opened ths shop. Today, his two sons work for him and his wife Mary Lou does all of the book keeping and even details cars, too.
"My business relies on local people and northerners who come down for the winter," he said in the story. "I think we've survived two, maybe three recessions because I always do what's right for our customers. We have customers that are older and unsure of how to navigate or to negotiate with their insurance. We make sure our customers get everything they are entitled to from their the insurance company."
Longs offers everything from paint jobs, spot repair, color matching, headlines are detail work.
