KILLEEN, Texas — Car Wash Barn will donate proceeds from every wash during November to help fund the construction of the Nov. 5, 2009, Fort Hood Shooting Memorial, according to the Killeen Daily Herald.
The business chooses a charity to support every year, said the article.
Car Wash Barn Community Coordinator Ian Streckel shared in the article, “We heard about the memorial and how it still hasn’t raised enough money to be built. We decided that was the fundraiser we wanted to do this year.”

The carwash’s goal is its largest ever at $4,500, noted the article. All four of its locations will participate in the initiative.
The memorial will honor the 13 killed and 32 injured in the 2010 shooting that occurred on the military base, reported the article.
Other local groups will also sponsor events to support the memorial, including a concert and barbecue, and 5K run, stated the article.
