HAYS, Kan. — A new Buff Soft-Touch Car Wash is under construction, and it will feature technology to allow it exceed the city’s water conservation requirements, according the Hays Post.
The carwash will have two IQ Soft Touch automatic bays and two self-serve bays, said the article.
The new technology will capture a 3D scan of each vehicle that enters the bay, and a custom wash is created for the vehicle.

Co-owner Larry Schaffer says the carwash uses less than half the water of traditional automatic carwashes. Its cell foam brushes also provide a more efficient wash, noted the article.
In the article, Schaffer said the facility will reuse about 85 to 90 percent of the water used.
Schaffer owns five other locations with his son Brandon.
