ROGERSVILLE, TN — A drug deal which took place at the Rub-A-Dub Car Wash here was caught on camera and the parties involved have since been arrested, Times News reported.
The Nov. 12 story said the accused dealer, William Thomas "Tommy" Burton, Jr., was already wanted for violating parole, driving with a revoked license, and driving with a stolen tag on his truck.
Police had already been surveying the carwash, looking for criminal activity. Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said in the story, “After narcotic officers observed what appeared to be a hand-to-hand transaction between Mr. Burton and an unknown female driving a black Toyota Celica, a sheriff’s deputy followed the female as she drove away."
Both parties were later detained and charged.
Around $1,300 in cash was found on Burton and he was charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, drug paraphernalia possession, theft, driving on a revoked license, possession of a prohibited weapon, and parole violation.
The woman was charged with felony possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
