INDIANAPOLIS — Water restrictions in Marion County here started last week, but it won’t apply to certain businesses, WISH reported.
The July 12 story stated that carwashes, landscapers and golf courses were exempt from the ban because the businesses would fail without water.
Sally Grant with Mike’s Carwash explained how the businesses’ water reclamation and recycling systems worked. She pointed out that some locations reclaim up to 47 gallons of water per wash.
“With our reverse osmosis system, every location is able to conserve five gallons of water, clean it and reuse it on vehicles,” Grant said in the article.
Even so, Mike’s has stopped irrigating landscaping to conserve water.
