PHOENIX, Ariz. — Danny’s Family Car Wash reached an agreement with the federal government to resolve an illegal hiring case, according to an article on azcentral.com. Lenders filed to foreclose on 13 locations.
Federal agents raided the business in August 2013. The company was indicted with the re-hiring of nearly 900 undocumented workers shown as previously terminated by company records, noted the article.
Fourteen managers and supervisors were indicted as part of the raid, said the article.
After those 900 workers were laid off, the company’s owner, Danny Hendon, filed for bankruptcy. Hendon had to step down as president of the company as part of the agreement. Heather Hendon has succeeded him, stated the article.
Verde Investments invested in the company, which helped it recover from bankruptcy, according to the article.
