ANNA, Ill. — A carwash has been destroyed by a fire which ripped through a building here on Saturday afternoon at 12:16 p.m., The Southern reported.
The June 22 story said that not only was AJ Car Wash destroyed, but also AJ Lawn and Garden and AJ Laundromat which were housed in the same building.
Fire Chief Mike Stoner said in the story, "It was totally gutted. It's to the point where it might be beyond repair."
Carwash fire put out, $20,000 in damage
There was no one inside any of the businesses at the time of the fire. "When we got there, there was from one end to the other, heavy smoke rolling," Stone stated in the story. "The fire started from the left end of the structure and a common roof took the fire all the way to the end of the building."
Officials investigating the fire said it does not look suspicious.
"They could have been grinding inside, and there was also a trash can burning outside that may have contributed to it," Stoner suggested, according to the story.
