CHARLESTON, N.C. — The West Virginia Oil Marketers & Grocers Association (OMEGA) announced the final fundraising total for its recent “Every Child Deserves a Loving Home” campaign, according to a NASC news release featured on nacsonline.com.
The campaign raised $79,615 to help the families and children cared for by the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, stated the release.
Member grocery and convenience stores of OMEGA partners with the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia to raise funds to support child assistance programs, reported the release, such as foster care, emergency child shelters, mentoring, adoption, early intervention and several other family support programs throughout West Virginia.
Across the state from April 10 to May 10, vibrant paper flowers were sold for one dollar at approximately 500 OMEGA-member stores, continued the release.
“Our members — the hundreds of local convenience and grocery stores West Virginians shop in every day — are very proud of this effort to make a difference in children’s lives and we are very appreciative of the public who truly supported this campaign,” said OMEGA President Jan Vineyard in the release.
OMEGA has raised more than $2 million for charities improving the safety, health and well-being of children in West Virginia since 2003, noted the release.
