AYLESBURY, ENGLAND — The owner of Pitstop Hand Car Wash here donated 10,000 pounds to help needy children and pensioners during the holiday season, The Bucks Herald reported.
The Dec. 6 story stated that Arif Rehman generated the money to donate by having advertising signs posted at the carwash. Now, the Bucks Community Foundation has pledged to boost the amount to 25,000 pounds.
Association promotes tickets for charity washing
Over 30 sponsors had advertisements on the site since the program was introduced this year. Rehman thanked the sponsors and all of his customers for choosing his carwash service.
Rehman said in the story the money will help those who are struggling stay warm and pay winter fuel bills. Rehman has owned the wash for six years, and he said it is the first time he has been able to donate such a large sum.
