CHATTANOOGA, TN — The professional division of Turtle Wax and the company’s Tennessee distributor hosted a two-day free hand wax event here, according to a press release.
The June 7 release stated that the dual event, held May 18 and 19 at Surf’s Up Car Wash, was a charity fundraiser for the local chapter of Teen Challenge. The event also acted as two customer appreciation days for all of Surf’s Up’s loyal customers.
Teen Challenge, a faith-based organization, provided refreshments and volunteers for the event with over 14 teens participating in the hand waxing. All customers received a hand wax during the event including those who did not purchase the top package.
After a wash, customers were directed to the hand wax area where the team would quickly wax a car in about 90 seconds. During the two-day event, the team raised over $3,100 for their cause and waxed 580 cars.
Bernie Russell, Turtle Wax representative and organizer of the event, said in the release: “It was a great two days. These volunteers worked exceptionally hard and were generously rewarded for their efforts. What a great opportunity for a local business to impact the community they serve!”
Teen Challenge is a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to young adults looking to make positive changes in their lives.
