PASADENA, CA — The world’s first self-chilling beverage can went on sale to the public at a Chevron carwash and food mart here, according to marketwatch.com.
The Sept. 5 story stated that West Coast Chill Pure Energy drinks come packaged in a can that allows the beverage to drop 30 degrees within minutes once a button on the can has been activated.
Tim Savolt, owner and operator of the Pasadena Chevron Carwash and Food Mart, said in the story, “The Chill Can is a historic and revolutionary innovation in convenience, and I am proud that Chevron and I can share in bringing this to our customers.”
Residents here braved triple digit temperatures to come and enjoy a cold beverage without the use of ice or refrigeration, the story noted.
