Comedian Steve Harvey, who hosts the nationally syndicated radio show, "The Steve Harvey Morning Show," is running a best in the nation awards in which people can vote for their favorite business or person in their area. The contest, called The Neighborhood Awards, honors 12 different categories, including the best car wash/detail shop.
According to an article in the Baltimore Sun, the Second Street Car Wash in Laurel, MD, is in the running to win.
The May 23 story said the owner, Raymond Matthews, has already won a trip to Las Vegas as his carwash is a finalist in the category. Final voting will be on June 6 and the top vote-getter will be announced in July.

The other carwashes in the running are located in New Orleans, Virginia Beach and New Jersey, the story said.
