Ira Feinberg led a long life, which his family has detailed in the statement below. In the carwash industry he was known as the "Dean of Clean," the author of the book "Make Your Fortune Washing Cars," and an all-around nice guy. In his book it chronicles how he was an innovator in the carwashing industry, establishing the first school to train carwash operators on the business. He was also the originator of express detailing. Ira Feinberg left a big impact on the industry, and will not be forgotten.

It with our deepest introspection and love that we lost our father today after his long battle with cancer. I want to personally thank all of you from across the globe that have been pouring in their wishes and condolences. Words can't express our sense of loss…..but love will see us through. He was an extraordinary man who lived every day to its fullest. You will be missed and never forgotten.
Ira Feinberg (1930-2014) led a life that has defined Modern Zionism and a love for Israel. Born and raised in Brooklyn in 1930 to an ardent Zionistic family and whose mother was one of the founding families of Tel Aviv, the tone for Ira’s life always hovered around Israel and its people. Ira was the youngest American volunteer to join the Palmach via the Jewish Underground’s New York Office and demanded his right to join the liberation of Eretz Yisrael. Traveling to Europe, Ira was smuggled into a DP camp in Marseilles France and took his place amongst the thousands in line for an entry to Palestine. Declaring his Allegiance to the Haganah in an un-ceremonial briefing at the clandestine transit camp, a small group of soon to be soldiers in Israel’s first Army boarded crowded immigrant ships leaving from Marseilles. After the war and Israel's defiant victory of Independence, and for fifty years thereafter, Ira became a leading speaker for the United Jewish Appeal and Israel Bonds. He has addressed over five hundred audiences from coast to coast and Canada with his passionate, memorable, and inspiring speeches retelling his tale and applying it to the ongoing drama’s in Israel fight for survival. In 2008 Ira Produced and Directed the Award Winning Documentary “My Brothers Keeper” as a tribute to the men and woman of the Haganah. Ira is survived by his wife Yaffa of 50 years, his children Juliette and Bryan, their spouses Anat and Larry and four grandchildren, Aiden, Danielle, Jordyn and Zachary.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested any donations be made to the American Veterans of Israel (AVI) or the Friends of the IDF.
