SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — After seven years, two managers have returned to Ortega Car Wash and Lube in hopes of restoring the business’ camaraderie with its clients and the community, The Capistrano Dispatch reported.
The Sept. 30 story stated that Geoff Hirson and Paul Killick returned to oversee the day-to-day operations of the wash. Hirson designed and built the wash in 1996 and opened it up a year later.
For the next nine years, Hirson and Killick ran the carwash and emphasized personal relationships with the customer. “We always wanted this place to be like the TV show ‘Cheers,’ where everybody knows your name,” Killick said in the story.

Hirson sold the wash in 2005, but the current ownership brought the pair back earlier this year. Now, the wash offers free washes for the entire van fleet of the Boys & Girls Club and sponsors the Capistrano Valley Christian School’s football team.
In addition to carwashing, detailing and oil changes, Ortega Car Wash also offers windshield repairs.
