KILLEEN, TX ― The Car Wash Barn gave all of its profits from last Saturday to the Central Texas-Fort Hood AUSA Chapter and Military Homefront Services which benefits wounded soldiers, the Killeen Daily Herald reported.
The June 23 story said the Car Wash Barn's Marketing Manager Michael Sanchez stood outside on Saturday, holding a sign that read: Support Wounded Warriors today at Car Wash Barn."
It's not just physical wounds that matter, but also mental ones, Sanchez said in the story. "There's no prosthetic for mental wounds. It's one thing to be an amputee, but psychology isn't being addressed."
Sanchez said they want to set the standard and make people more aware of what's going on with those returning from war. "I don't know what it's like to be (a soldier), but I know they go through a lot; and when they come back wounded, we need to give back to them," he said in the story.
