WHEATHAMPSTEAD, ST. ALBANS, ENGLAND — Plans for a new carwash here have been labeled as an "eyesore," by the locals who also said it would have a negative impact on the village, a Review story stated.
The May 25 story said villagers think the signs would have a detrimental impact, especially the "heritage trail."
The Wheathampstead and District Preservation Society are objecting to the plans and said in a statement, "The site is immediately adjacent to the village conservation area, and it is important that the signage is in keeping with the conservation requirements of the area. Current signage is inappropriate and not in keeping with the proximity of the beautiful village."
