SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Stewart’s Shops was selected by the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce for the Industry of the Year Award, according to a press release.
The award, which was presented to the company on Jan. 22, recognizes a business for its positive contribution to the economic growth and well-being of the region, stated the release.
Stewart’s Shops launched four new convenience stores in Fulton and Montgomery counties in 2015, reported the release, which replaced existing locations in Fort Plain, Johnstown, Northville and Palatine Bridge.
The c-store retailer replaced a building that sat vacant for decades in Johnstown, continued the release, and the company also moved to a new, larger location in Perth in 2014.
Stewart’s Shops plans to continue to remodel and improve existing stores to better serve its customers, informed the release.
The c-store explained in the release that it takes pride in giving back to its communities as well as donating to local charities at grand opening events and throughout the year.
Stewart’s Shops will also be recognized next month for its contribution to the new outpatient pavilion at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, noted the release.
