Update: IDA names Mobile Detailer of the Year Award winner

BUCKHEAD, Ga. — Onsite Shine was presented the distinguished award during the 15th Annual Mobile Tech Auto Recon Expo (MTE) & Detailer’s Forum in Orlando, Florida.

BUCKHEAD, Ga. — Onsite Shine received the International Detailing Association’s (IDA) Mobile Detailer of the Year Award, according to a press release.

Jim Thomas and Rob Gray, founders of Atlanta’s Onsite Shine, along with Matt Robertson, managing partner, were presented the award at the IDA Annual Business Meeting on Friday, Jan. 29, at the 15th Annual Mobile Tech Auto Recon Expo (MTE) & Detailer’s Forum in Orlando, Florida, stated the release.

The IDA award is presented to an outstanding mobile detailing professional for his or her commitment to quality detailing work that lives up to the IDA Code of Ethics, reported the release, and Onsite Shine won the distinguished award after being nominated by the IDA Nominating Committee.

“I am truly humbled and honored for this award,” said Thomas in the release. “A big, big thanks and many blessings to those who have helped us along the way to achieve such a great honor, including my brother-in-law and partner Rob Gray, who has been with me ever since the inception of our company. He is my right-hand man, and there’s not a thing he or I would not do for the other.”

Onsite Shine is a fast-growing chain of automotive and marine detailing shops and mobile detailing services in Atlanta, informed the release.

The detailing company recently broke ground on their fifth location, a $1.5 million, 4,500-square-foot facility at the intersection of West Paces Ferry Road and Northside Parkway in Buckhead, which will open later this year, continued the release.

Onsite Shine also opened a location in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, stated the release, and Thomas and Gray have two detailing shops located inside Cartunes of Atlanta on Roswell Road and next door to Ferrari Maserati of Atlanta in Roswell as well as a marine detailing location at Holiday Marina on Lake Lanier in Buford.

Moreover, added the release, the company currently has six mobile detailing units servicing all of metro Atlanta.

“The new Buckhead location is a $1.5 million buildout unlike anything anyone has ever seen in the detailing industry, with full-service hand car washes and all types of exclusive detailing services,” said Thomas in the release.

Every year Thomas attends the MTE, noted the release, and as an active member of the IDA, he contributes to membership meetings and roundtable discussions which are often held at trade shows and exhibitions several times per year.

“Our goal is to promote consistency in the detailing industry and that in turn ensures the detailer’s customers are receiving the highest quality work available when using an IDA-certified detailer,” stated Rob Schruefer, president of the IDA, in the release. “Congratulations to Onsite Shine for being our Mobile Detailing Company of the Year. This means you are one of the best in the business.”
