CHICAGO — The International Carwash Association (ICA) has announced on its website that the keynote speaker for The Car Wash Show™ 2017 will be Tom Ridge, first Secretary of Homeland Security, former governor of Pennsylvania and president/CEO of Ridge Global and Partner, and Ridge Schmidt Cyber.
Ridge will give the keynote presentation, titled “From Risk to Resilience: The Global Mission to Secure Cyberspace,” on Wed., Apr. 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; the presentation is only available to All Access Pass holders, the site stated.
Ridge will speak about cyber security: how to navigate it, its priority, its evolution in terms of strategy and diplomacy and the next generation of cyber attacks, the site noted.
The ICA stressed the importance of cybersecurity threats in all businesses, including carwashes, saying, “Organizations of all types today face a daily and growing assault from nation states, lone actors and organized crime. The assailants target everything from trade secrets to proprietary information to reputation damage to critical infrastructure and financial systems. The effects are as far-reaching, disruptive and consequential as physical attacks, and can make or break organizations that are not sufficiently prepared.”
Before Ridge presents his keynote address, ICA CEO Eric Wulf and President David Begin will make a presentation about the state of the carwash industry and an update on the association, including on the progress of ICA’s individual programs over the past year and its plans for the future, the site stated.
