7 Flags Car Wash charity partnerships huge successes

VALLEJO, Calif. — 7 Flags Car Wash and the Susan G. Komen foundation teamed up again for the month of October to help raise awareness about checking for breast cancer as well as to raise money to find a cure, according to a press release.

The Susan G. Komen foundation donated pink ribbon buttons and literature about how to prevent breast cancer, and the 7 Flags team promoted awareness by having all staff wear pink shirts, bracelets and breast cancer buttons, the release continued.

7 Flags Car Wash donated $1 for every full-service carwash and $1 for every Fast Pass sold for the month of October and also accepted donations from their loyal customers, the release noted.

As such, 7 Flags Car Wash was able to raise over $7,008 for this month to donate to the Susan G. Komen foundation to help find a cure, the release added.

7 Flags has raised $45,602 over the past six years and is looking forward to continuing its partnership with the Susan G. Komen foundation, the release stated.

Vice President of 7 Flags, Jason Anthony, said, “This is a special event for the 7 Flags family. It is amazing to see the employees get behind such an incredible cause. We hope this partnership can continue for the foreseeable future.”

According to a separate press release, 7 Flags Car Wash partnered with the California Strong foundation Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 to raise money for families affected by California wildfires.

7 Flags Car Wash donated $1 for every car washed at its Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville and Citrus Heights locations, also matching any donation up to $1000, the release continued.

The community raised a total of $3,681 for wildfire victims, the release stated.

Anthony stated, “Thank you so much to all of our amazing customers for the donations and our incredible staff for taking part in supporting California Strong. We are excited to contribute to this cause, helping people in our great state of California.”

Raindrop Car Wash opens new location

GRAYSON VALLEY, Ala. — According to www.trussvilletribune.com, Raindrop Car Wash is expected to open its sixth location by Nov. 16th.

The express exterior carwash will be fully staffed during operating hours, and there will be a vacuum center at the front of the building; a free vacuum comes with every wash, the article continued.

The location off North Chalkville Rd. was formerly a BB&T Bank, but was transformed into a carwash, the article noted.

The owners of Raindrop Car Wash are also planning to begin construction on their seventh location in Trussville, Alabama, located near the intersection of Deerfoot Pkwy. and Hwy. 11, the article concluded.

Mighty Shine opens new location

BECKLY, W.Va. — According to www.wvnstv.com, Mighty Wash, which just opened on Robert C. Byrd Dr. on Nov. 13th, is offering free carwashes until Nov. 19th, and the business has already had plenty of customers.

This is not the first carwashing venture for owners Erik McCullough and Wally Dunford, the article continued.

“It’s a lot of fun. We have a lot of fun doing it. It’s a nice gesture. The community has been very good to us, since we’ve been here in terms of businesses that have welcomed us and suppliers that have helped us to get where we’re at today. It’s a little bit of a giveback,” McCullough said.

The carwash is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Ripley Car Wash to undergo major remodel

ALPENA, Mich. — According to www.thealpenanews.com, Ripley Car Wash shut down at the end of October to begin sweeping renovations.

Wayne Kowalski, who has owned the carwash since the 1980s, said changes in automotive technology and safety concerns meant express vacuuming, towel drying and interior cleaning are no longer feasible, so the carwash will no longer offer such services, the article continued.

Instead, the wash will transform from a full-service model to an express exterior one and offer state-of-the-art vacuums outside for customers, the article noted.

The Custom Shop, which is connected to the wash and does detailing work, will remain unchanged and open while the carwash is closed, the article stated.

When the carwash reopens under a new name, it will also offer new services with new equipment, the article added.

“We are going to redo the whole wash system, tear everything out, bust out the floors, put in a longer pit and add a bunch of new equipment,” Kowalski said. “It will be the newest, latest, greatest carwash equipment that is available.”

Kowalski said the main reason for the renovation was safety, since modern vehicles don’t work well with driverless wash systems, creating the potential for people to get hurt, the article continued.

“We’ve had some close calls in the past,” Kowalski said. “Today’s vehicles are also more complex, and somebody needs to be in a lot of them when they go down the track, and that is going to continue to grow. It’s too bad. We’ve been doing full service since 1985. It has been a tough decision for all of us, but one I think needed to be made.”

In addition, because customers will now stay in their vehicles, the carwash lobby will also change; specifically, greeting cards and other products will be removed, the article noted.

“It is all going to be a big change, and I hope the customer will appreciate what we are going to be doing,” Kowalski said. “It will be quicker, comfortable for the customer and safer. I don’t want to see anyone get hurt.”
