DAVENPORT, Iowa — Neighbors of a former Cheddar’s Restaurant are fighting a proposed Kwik Trip from opening a new location at the site, according to the Quad-City Times.
Several businesses have been in operation at the location, including another restaurant and a hardware store, said the article.
Around 30 residents attended the city council meeting in opposition of the plans, noted the article.

Llocals are concerned about noise, lighting, traffic and possible gasoline leaks the project could bring, stated the article.
Wade DuMond, real estate development manager for Kwik Trip, shared in the article the site would have lighting that wouldn’t bother neighbors, and gas tanks would have leak-detecting sensors.
According to DuMond, Kwik Trip initially wanted to build a carwash at the location, but it nixed the idea because of nearby residents.
