TIFFIN, Ohio — According to www.wtol.com, the construction of the new Magic Tunnel Express Car Wash at Tiffin Mall, which was nearing completion, was halted by a lawsuit filed by attorneys representing the property owners, Tiffin Westgate.
The lawsuit alleges that the owners of Magic Tunnel did not properly ask the mall for consent to begin the construction and that the carwash is too invasive on the mall parking lot for them to proceed without approval, the article continued.
Local leaders hoped the lawsuit would end on good terms so that the new business would be able to open after a year and a half of waiting, the article noted.
“Market Street is the main commercial stretch that’s about a mile, and 100-plus businesses are there. We’re excited to see things happening at Westgate and at the mall. There’s a lot of momentum and we want to see that continue,” said David Zak, president of the Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership.
One of the attorneys representing Westgate, Dean Henry, said both parties were in negotiations to ensure the carwash could open soon, the article concluded.
